Taper



The Taper command produces a tapered contour by scaling one end of an object's geometry. You can control the amount and curve of the taper on two sets of axes. You can also limit the taper to a specifc section of the geometry.

Using:

  1. Click on the taper button( tools/Object tools)
    click on the object where you want to taper.

  2. Drag the mouse up to taper with a negative effect. Drag down to taper with a positive effect.

  3. Release when the desired taper effect has been reached.

Adjusting: You can adjust how much of the object you wish to taper and which axis you would like to taper the object on.

  1. To adjust where you would like the taper to start enter the percentage down from the bottom of the object where you want the taperto start. For example Start =0.2 or 20% to start

  2. Enter the percentage where you want the taper to finish, from the bottom up. For instance 0.5 or 50% from the top.

  3. Choose which axis to affect. The axis if default to Y.

  4. Choose the factor of how much you will taper.Higher results in greater sensitivity when adjusting.
